MOBILE APP CONCEPT
WHAT IS GRIDLIFE?
GRIDLIFE is a grassroots motorsport and lifestyle brand that produces Track day events and Music Motorsports Festival across North America.
I chose to create this mobile app concept for Gridlife because I have attended one of their events, and noticed that their website was rather confusing to use, and they had no mobile app. I wanted to solve both of those problems.
USER STORIES
As a user, I can navigate the app smoothly and access core functions with ease.
As a user, I can purchase tickets with ease for upcoming Gridlife events, with guides on how to prepare for the event.
As a user, I can find event dates, locations, and artists present for each day easily within this app.
As a user, I can shop for exclusive merchandise once tickets are purchased (merch can only be purchased by ticket holders).
CONTEXT
This app is meant to be an all-in-one stop for everything Gridlife. Purchasing tickets, how to prepare for the event as a consumer, where to find things (map with vendor locations), purchasing merch, and especially prior year experiences.
The goal is to create an experience that people will want to experience more than just once a year for 4 days, where they have something to reflect on and look forward to for next year. The design layout will be similar to something like Ticketmaster, but specifically tailored to this one singular event and the experiences from the prior years.
WIREFRAMES
In order: Home Page -> Ticket Selection -> Adding to Cart -> Cart -> Music Lineup -> Information -> Ticket Questionnaire
FINAL THOUGHTS
This project was a learning experience. Although this project was made over the course of a month, I found myself going back and always trying to find ways to improve the design and user experience. I wanted to ensure that the app concept was easier to use than their base website, which I personally feel like I succeeded at doing.
One issue I personally found confusing about the purchasing process at Gridlife, is not knowing what type of tickets I need, which is where the ticket questionnare comes in. It is not often that you find a company that offers this type of service to help their users understand what they need to have to have a good experience at their events, and I felt that this would be an incredibly useful tool for the ticket purchasing process.
